  • Camping removes you from the STRESSES of modern day working life, or maybe it's those annoying barking dogs in your neighborhood and now finally whilst camping you, your family, friends can actually completely relax, wind down for a few days or maybe weeks.
  • THIS TENT IS TOO SMALL FOR ME !..WHAT CAN I DO ?

  • The Guy pictured above thought he would buy a kids tent to go camping thinking he would fit in ok !....He thought wrong !
  • Many thanks to Aliexpress Fails for allowing us to use this pic.

  • TENT SIZE ?

  • I am 7ft 2" Tall...so what size tent will I need for my partner, myself ?
  • A tent with a floor size of say 6'x 6' just won't work for you !
  • So you will need to move up in the size of tent you purchase.
  • Importantly looking at the tent floor area so you would need a tent that has at least a floor area of 8'x 8' as a minimum just to fit yourself in.
  • Also giving you enough room to store all your gear.

  • HERE'S SOMETHING FOR YOU TO SERIOUSLY CONSIDER BEFORE YOU BUY ANY TENT.
  • THAT IS THE VERY LOW ROOF PROFILE OF MOST 1,2,3,4 PERSON TENTS.
  • WHAT THIS MEANS IS A VERY LOW TENT DOORWAY OR ENTRANCE, THE ROOF ONLY GIVING YOU SAY 3'6" to 4 foot HEADROOM SO YOU ONLY HAVE SIT UP ROOM NOT STANDING ROOM, WHILE THIS IS OKAY, FUN FOR KIDS IT CAN MAKE IT ANNOYING, AWKWARDLY DIFFICULT FOR OTHERS TO ENTER, DEPART THE TENT THAT ARE NOT AS YOUNG OR AGILE AS THEY USED TO BE.
  • SO WHAT IF IT ABSOLUTELY TEEMS WITH RAIN FOR HOURS ON END ?
  • YOU MAY WISH YOU BOUGHT A HIGHER PROFILE TENT....just something for you to think about !

  • Campers in the USA are very well served, have a choice of 60 beautifully protected national parks with most recently celebrating 100 years of operation, each of these national parks is very unique in their own beautiful way, there is also a myriad of 417 fantastic recreational camping sites across the USA....for more detailed info on national parks.

  • Simply copy and paste this URL https://www.nps.gov/subjects/camping/index.htm into "GOOGLE".

  • ARE THERE FREE CAMPING GROUNDS IN THE USA ?

  • Yes there are many free camping grounds right across the USA simply "google" free campsites USA.

  • Here's more very informative sites showing you where to find "free camping areas".

  • FREE CAMPING SITES ACROSS THE USA, can be found at campendium.com or freecampsites.net or US forest service website also National forest campground guide.

  • FEDERAL CAMPING GROUNDS.
  • more info go to...https://www.recreation.gov(copy and paste to see website).

  • TENTSFORTROOPS.org.
  • This fantastic site gives our brave servicemen, servicewomen who often risk their lives in the line of duty serving to protect the citizens here at home in the USA and fighting wars overseas a minimum 2 nights FREE STAY including family members so check it out, take up this wonderful FREE OFFER that's a well earned gift for all those wonderful service personnel.

  • CAN WE GO CAMPING IN THE WILDERNESS OR BACKCOUNTRY ?

  • Yes you can go camping in the wilderness or backcountry.
  • Contact the park you wish to visit as you will need to purchase passes from the park ranger.
  • You will need the correct camping equipment, gear especially if you are intending on going wilderness camping in possibly snowy conditions.
  • Remember there maybe no convenience stores or 711's in the wilderness or backcountry.

  • Quite often you might have to walk in to your campsite from the car parking area so find out first if this is the case where you want to camp so if you do have to walk some distance to the campsite you will have to carry what is appropriate.
  • ie nothing too heavy just what you can carry easily plus a backpack each containing appropriate clothing to suit the local climate.
  • Individual personal items.
  • Your tent, tent stakes, roof rain fly, tent tarp.
  • Lightweight Waterproof jackets, solid footwear you have already "broken in".
  • Sleeping Bags, Sleeping Pads, or Inflatable Sleeping Pads, Propane Cooker, Cooking Gear, Plates Bowls Mugs, Cutlery, FOOD, Torches, Hydration "WATER", Multi Purpose Pocket Knife, Tools, Clothing, Rubber Headed Mallet, "PLB", Personal Location Beacon, Cell Phone etc.

  • ASK THE NICE RANGER IF THERE IS "POTABLE WATER" AVAILABLE.
  • THIS IS ANOTHER TERM FOR DRINKABLE WATER AT WILDERNESS OR BACKCOUNTRY CAMPING AREAS.

  • So if "POTABLE WATER" IS NOT AVAILABLE you will have to carry your own supply of water.
  • Also take a LIFESTRAW water filter or similar device at least so you can access water from a lake river or stream.
  • Ensuring it is purified by using this device.

  • Reservations are normally required for your national parks campsite so check it out, book in advance, on your arrival ask the friendly park ranger if there are any warnings you should be made aware of for this park area ?

  • BEACH CAMPING.
  • VALUABLE TIPS TO KEEP YOUR FAMILY SAFE IF YOUR PLANNING TO PITCH YOUR TENT ON A BEACH.

  • WINTER OR SNOWY WEATHER CAMPING.

  • Make sure you have at least a 4 season tent in snowy conditions as pictured above.
  • When Camping in These Very Cold Situations, you will need to make sure you have a good quality 4 SEASON TENT, ensuring your tent has been waterproof sealed, along with appropriately Rated Sleeping Bags.
  • Consider buying Thermal Underwear, Warm LightWeight Clothing, LightWeight Waterproof Jackets, Pants, Solid Comfortable Footwear that you have already broken in, also Plenty of Food, Hydration (water), Fire starter or lighter, Portable Gas or Propane Cooker,Cooking Gear, Cooking Utensils, Cooking Oil, Eating Utensils, LED Tent Lighting, LED Torches,LED Head Torches, First Aid Kit.
